It will be a challenge to finish off over/ well ripe bananas
when there are lot of them. Just eating one or two a day will not serve the purpose.
Here is a recipe to use them in a good way. It is good to make the kids to eat
them without knowledge. The chapattis using banana will be soft too making them
good to carry in a lunch box. It can be eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Preparation Time: ½ an hour
Cook time: 20 mins
Serves: 12-15 chapattis
Ingredients:
Wheat flour - 2 cups
Ripe Bananas – 2 (Large Robusta) / 4-6 small (Yelakki)
Salt
Ghee/ Oil – 2 tbsp
Cumin/ jeera – ¼ tsp
Method:
Peel off bananas and mash well in a large vessel. Add wheat
flour, cumin and salt to it and mix well. Prepare dough by kneading well. Add
more flour if the dough is too sticky. Add 1 small banana (mashed) or sprinkle
bit water if dough is too dry. Finally add ghee/ oil to the mixture. Knead again
this well to form a very soft dough. Cover and keep aside for twenty minutes to
half an hour to get good result. Divide the dough into small orange sized
balls. Roll and make thin chapattis and cook both sides till you get brown
spots on both sides. Apply little ghee on each chapatti while cooking. Serve hot
chapattis with any side dish.
my favorite :-)
